Easy?! 30 miler

Thanks to the sludgefest on Saturday my quick jaunt on my Bianchi for a 30 mile ride seemed so easy and fun. Who'd a thunk it, a bike ride without pain and suffering:) Just kidding, it's a lot more of an accomplished feeling after Saturday's ride, but today was a nice perspective. I forget how nice it is to be on pavement sometimes. And with 120 psi and steel and carbon putting my power to the ground, the miles just melted away. So went my work, frustrations, etc... People have mentioned to me this question "what do you do on your long rides"? The right question is, "what don't you do?". That's where it's at. For some reason biking makes it easy to forget about things. It was a little windy, but probly averaged 19-20 mph without much difficulty. It was amazing too, with my campy running gear, even though I had 20 choices, the fact that I never missed a single shift, never was looking for the right gear, it made for a very un-complicated ride. Quite a nice sunset too. I probably should break down and carry a small camera sometimes, even Iowa can be scenic in some places:)
