Harvest Moon and Only 2

If you're out and about around 7, or a little after. Head up to the Ada Hayden upland trail. I'm guessing it was 7:15 last night, this bright orange thing started coming up out in the east. The moon was a bright orange, and pretty big. Temps are perfect for a ride that time of night too. I highly recommend it.

Then I came back to my place and got my Hayes Hydraulic Nine brakes off my bike. If anyone knows who would want that set, let me know, otherwise they're going up on ebay. I'm doing the same with my 50cm IRO Rob Roy SS/fixed frame. It's got clearance for 38s. The Avids I noticed are "road" bb7s, not sure if that makes a difference. They seem to work well, but I need to get them set up with cables sometime. I think I'll just use some old levers that I have. It looks like the adjustability in those things will take up the inaccuracy of the rotor adapter, phew.

Here's to show how much of a bike geek I am (I actually think about this kind of stuff): If you could only have 2 bikes, what would they be? Here's my picks:

On a budget:
  • Cross-check (2x9, 105)
  • Karate Monkey (1x9, LX)
Steady Paycheck:
  • Gunnar Crosshairs (2x9 Ultegra, 2 wheelsets)
  • Niner SIR 9 (3x9, XT)
Doin Well for yourself:
  • Steelman Eurocross
  • Hunter 29er
Fat paycheck, connections, and patience
  • Matt Chester cyclocross
  • Steve Potts 29er
Feel free to weigh in.
