So I thought I'd do a quick road loop this afternoon. I had a light but good lunch at 1. Took a ride at 3. It was windy on the way back but I was enjoying it, even if it was a bit chilly. Then about mile 25-27 somethin just hit me. I wasn't feeling at all hungry up until this point. I tried to shake it off for a mile or to, drink my water, but when I hit the road that heads back to Gilbert, all I could manage was 8 or 9 mph (on my Bianchi), I barely got up that hill on the corner. All I could think of was to head to Paul's. As cars passed I was pretty wobbly. I eeked into Gilbert, and unfortunately Paul wasn't there. I knew something was up, and so I headed to anyone that looked like they were home. I got to a neighbor of Paul's and asked for some help, some food or something? They nicely brought me a granola bar. But as I tried to stand there, I was super dizzy. I just took a knee. The father and mother that was walking out said to come inside. They sat me in their living room and put a blanket on me. I slowly got some Dr. Pepper down and stared at the floor, very nauseas. About 10 minutes later (at least I think it was) I was on my feet. But the Dad was ready to take me home. I was so confused at my body that I thankfully obliged. A short trip back and I just felt better and better. I got back safe, and felt great actually, but the Dad wouldn't take money or anything! I owe these people whose names I didn't even get a big thank you, and need to stop by there tomorrow to say so, I got a big bottle of Dr. Pepper and new box of granola bars to start. I know I'm not diabetic, but I definitely had some imbalance! I've bonked from lack of food before, but that gradually came on, and I could just plug through the cravings. This was debilitating, humbling, strange...
So thanks to Paul's neighbors. Paul if you read this, I'll be up there sometime tomorrow.

Wow! That sounds scary. I've had a bad one before that had me wobbly, dizzy and calling for help, but I never felt debilitated. That's strange...and could be dangerous this time of year, with the cold and dark coming on. Take care.
Alex-
Sorry I wasn't home. I am glad that you were able to get the help you needed!
Scary.
Thanks guys. Nice reminder to understand the whole diet thing. Not your fault that you weren't home Paul:) It's funny, I know that through the health insurance plan from ISU I can get a dietician for free to help me. It's probably a good idea. But then I'd have no excuse to go on TI V4 right??:)
Damn straight you wouldn't! I'll make the appointment myself.
Hahaha. I'm afraid they'd say Mr. Samuel Adams has to go away:(
Alex, you definitely need to give TI a shot. What a blast!
