It was quite a nice day finally in Kearney, upper 70s low 80s. So I got the Bianchi out for one of the longer rides it's been on (sadly). But with 36 oz water, a gas station stop refill with 24oz gatorade, and half a powerbar, I fairly easily kicked out 66 miles, even after spending some quality time with Sam Adams the night before (long work week). It's impressive how much of a 2nd wind I got after the gatorade. The powerbars are just not cutting it for me for sugar/salt/energy replacement. I even tried to chew off a chunk of powerbar and suck on it like a hard candy. My stomach just wasn't happy with it, but I could feel the wobblies/dizzies, so I knew I needed some chemical replaced. The back of my jersey was covered in sweated salt - say it with me, ewwwwww.
Anyway, I'll probly try some gels again, to see if that works, or just stick with half water, half gatorade. With that and a purchase of a WTB Devo seat, I think I could bring my 3.5 hour trip down to 3 hours.

Looks like a nice ride. How's life out there treating you? Busy I'm sure. Ever hook up with the Pirate Cycling League guys? They sure love their gravel out there! Later!
Haven't Greg. I'll check them out. Things aren't too bad here. How's things in Iowa?
