Easter Lincoln

The Niner frame road great. Probly put in 100 miles over 3 rides. Got great combo rides of pavement/gravel/dirt.

Those niners are sweet.

I have a question for you. I am looking at getting some of those Michelin Trans World Sprints to use for Dirty Kanza. Are you still using some of those tires? They are so cheap! I am wondering if you feel they roll well and have excellent puncture resistance? I need a tough tire. I see that it has a very low (30) tpi. Does the tire feel slow and sluggish? You always seemed fast while riding them! Let me know what you think. thejacobsons@q.com

Hey Paul. Just thinking about messaging you to see what kind of rack you had for your car. I've got a set of brand new Trans World Sprints that I didn't ride. I think speedgoat sent me two sets. I swear I gave somebody those tires and kept the new pair. They were pretty slow on pavement, but would probably be good for gravel traction. I think they'd be fairly puncture prone though. I've been riding my Schwalbe Marathons, and love them, but they're 32mm - you probably want wider. I should try and do the Dirty Kanza. Is registration still open? I've been thinking of also going to ames and riding in Boone. Any idea what condition 7oaks is in?

Thanks for the heads up on the tires. Since my message I have found the Specialized Armadillos. I think I might try those.

You actually gave me the Michelin's and then I gave them to my neighbor as they were too wide for my frame.

Unfortunately, DK registration is closed. It would have been great to have you down there. You should definitely consider it for next year!!!!

Seven Oaks actually is in good shape. We should get together sometime! Call me at 515 708 6575 if you think you may come over. You are always welcome at the Jacobson's.

thanks for the info about DK. I'm bummed that it's closed. I'll definitely be coming up to Ames, probably before the end of April, maybe the last weekend in May I'm thinking. Especially if 7oaks is getting good. I'll give you a call.

I am wrong! The race directors for DK are still letting people transfer their spots. Here is the thread: http://forums.mtbr.com/showthread.php?t=604316

You should check it out!

Hey Paul. What kind of car rack do you have?

I have a four bike hitch mount tray like system. Unfortunately, I have a full car going to DK, but do you think you could meet us down there?

Still wondering if I should try to get in to DK. Life's been so stupid busy with work, I've only gotten out on weekends. Plus when I got thinkin about it, it was stressin me out. I don't know why, but I don't want to stress out about something that I should look forward to enjoying. Bummer that you have a full car, that could have taken out a few worries if I didn't think I could finish. What brand is your rack?

I have this four bike rack: http://www.jensonusa.com/store/product/RA310B03-Sportrack+Universal+Hitch+Racks.aspx

I love it as it is so easy. I actually may have a person going to provide support, but unfortunately you would probably have to meet us down there. If you would like to join in the fun I have a friend that is bailing so you could have his spot for the race fee. Let me know: thejacobsons@q.com

I understand getting stressed out. It is a long ways to ride that is for sure!

Keep in touch.
