Feelin the lack of biking

Boy, I'm just feeling the lack of energy from not riding much. I road the whole bike to work week, but wussed out last week. I just can't afford the extra 20 minutes to get there and back. Plus I definitely don't have the rain gear for that kind of rain we had.

By the end of May things should really slow down for me. I've been putting in at least 60 hours of work during the week, and I really have to keep up on my reading for my thesis literature reviews. Basically I just need to figure out by the end of the summer how I will contribute and/or do something different from what's already been done with the work in my area.

Thankfully I hope to have a new bike by the middle/end of June and will be very excited to do more riding with that. Hopefully on the weekends I can get down to Des Moines and rides some dirt trails that I haven't ridden down there.

I plan to ride the fixie/single speed ride on Tuesday night. Then I may have to take off for a business trip to Waterloo during the middle of the week. Depending on how long the machining takes today I may try to get out for a road ride. But it looks like rain, so maybe I'll get the Surly out and about downtown.

Oh, almost forgot, I went to bike shops in Des Moines for a bit yesterday. I found some Celeste Cinelli tape for my Origin Gary bars. I think I'm going to try and mount some Cane Creek levers I had around and use them when I turn my Surly into a single speed. I need to find another stem that's not 31.8 like my Surly's Thomson. I'll have to find something on ebay. Anyway, I'm rambling now, but whoever's reading this, I'll be doing more riding soon:)
