First things first. Ride, Sunday, 7oaks. Time: ??? post comments about what works best. Cory can do Sunday, Paul talked to me last week about riding this weekend. I can bring some beer if that help?!
Put my disc brakes on my new wheels. The adapter thing is pretty cheap, and I'm missing one of the lock rings for it. I stopped in first at Skunk and got the freewheel tool from Will that fit. I ordered one from them, but later talking to Marc he said he had a couple. I don't think I mentioned that to you if you're reading this Marc. They do a lot of little things mechanic wise, advise wise over there, I didn't feel like canceling that order. If they don't work out or something I'll probably get one from you. Thanks a bunch for the offer. I try to share my biking purchases/repairs between both shops fairly equally.
I picked up my Trek frame. Looks pretty scratched in places, but it looks true fixie. The 38s I tried just barely fit on there. Weirdest part was the brake bridge was a lot closer than I thought it would be. It's really funny how light it is for that age. Easily a 4 pound frame. I'm contemplating sticker covering, and repaint it later if I really like it. Not really sure what'll happen with it. I'll need to get a headset, stem, and the bottom bracket figured out. And I'm not sure a Thomson post would look right on there:) But On on Mungos will stay, probly going with some Khaki cloth tape to complete a pseudo class build.
But to my title, there's just nothin that is quite perfect with bikes, and other junk in my life. It's all decent, just nothing real perfect. My brakes I can't stop from rubbing in the rear on my Kona cause of the low quality 6 bolt adapter. Gotta get some BB7s anyway. The trek frame is good, but I did pay good money for it, with plenty of rust, fit issues, which will take some more time, etc... And this is my hobby?? I could go on and on about school, crummy job opportunities (career fair was Tuesday), etc... but I won't. Weirdest part is, I really don't think I'm a complainer. Cover me in misquito bites, give me a flat tire, and a chain that jumps, and slips. And I'll go for another lap.

Turns out I have a brunch thing post-wedding Sunday, so afternoon would work for me. Hope that works for everyone else.
Duly noted. Sometime in the afternoon then.
the surest way to happiness is to lower your standards.
Thanks. You interested in riding 7oaks this sunday afternoon?
umm, probably not. planning on hanging out at the race in des moines (http://cyclingupdate.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=244&Itemid=9) and doing some riding around there...
I will be good to go, but it won't be until later in the afternoon, say 4:30 or so. Sorry.
Ah damn Emily, that looks like fun! And I'd have the gear to do it single with platforms, or geared on a hybrid. Options galore to be stupid, but no good with obligations. Have fun.
Paul, we could probably wait until then.
That times fine with me, but any later and it'll be getting dark, so if we start then it'll be 2 hours of riding. I'll probably go there at 3:30 to get another lap in at least.
Emily, if we're going later, maybe you will change your mind and come out?:) Marc mentioned that ride to me today. But I think I gotta be studious and get some shit done, look s really cool though.
I'll meet you there at 3:00 Alex. Whoever else comes, great!
Hate to be a pest, but do you have any extra 26in mountain tubes you could bring for me in case. I came rather ill prepared. Next time I'll be sure to bring home shoes, pedals, tubes and tools.
Yeah Cory, I'll be there at 3 then. I was thinking about that, what are you going to ride, the cannondale we rode at the 24?
Yeah, funny thing was I for some reason thought you were using the word "tubes" referring to an extra bike. But yeah, I know I have one tube, and I'm pretty sure it's still good:) I'll bring tools. I have some big platforms if you need. I'd offer you a ride out there, but I really want to bring both bikes out.
Cory: "I came rather ill prepared."
Duh. But it's excusable, as we all know how busy you've been lately. (gesture)
Sorry, I can't make it this time. I've the race in DM, and then there doin the season awards after that. Tell Cory I said "Hey".
Hey Paul. yeah I heard about that race, sounds like fun. Enjoy.
Geez Em, I can't help it if I like to pack light. Didn't think I'd have time at all to hit the trail.
And don't think that sitting around figuring out life's mysteries isn't hard work. (gesture)
